Setting Strategic Policies and Plans: Develop strategic policies and plans for the free zones, ensuring their implementation after approval by the Ruler. This shall be done in coordination with relevant bodies within the Emirate.

Issuing Regulations: Enact regulations related to the competencies of the Authority in coordination with the competent authorities in the Emirate.

Preparing Studies and Programs: Develop studies and programs related to the free zones to ensure their alignment with the overall economic policies of the Emirate.

Proposing New Free Zones: Propose the establishment of new free zones within the Emirate, specifying their boundaries, advantages, and facilities, and present them for approval by the Ruler.

Monitoring Activities: Supervise and regulate the operations and activities within the free zones, ensuring compliance with the applicable rules and regulations.

Investment Climate Regulation: Organize and monitor the investment environment within the free zones, ensuring adherence to the systems and standards set forth.

Providing Services: Ensure the provision of necessary public services within the free zones to support business growth and enhance competitiveness.

Licensing and Approvals: Issue all required licenses and approvals related to investment and economic activities within the free zones.

Regulating Housing and Projects: Oversee housing and projects within the free zones.

Managing Exclusive Agreements: Follow up on exclusive agreements signed within the free zones and ensure their proper implementation.

Collecting Revenues: Oversee the collection of fees and revenues related to the free zones’ activities.

Marketing and Investment Promotion: Promote investments in the free zones locally and internationally, enhancing the region’s appeal to foreign investors.

Ownership and Contribution: Invest or contribute fully or partially in companies or projects that operate inside or outside the country, particularly if they relate to trade, industry, or other fields linked to the activities of the free zones.

International Representation: Represent the Authority at regional and international conferences and events related to its competencies.

Jurisdiction Over Free Zones: Exercise all powers necessary for the management and regulation of free zones, as specified by the Ruler.

Other Related Competencies: Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Ruler or relevant legislation.
